What has been your experience since taking medication for this disease. I now take synthroid, I feel pretty good considering I have kids LOL. Are there any particular foods that you avoid. I hear foods from the cabbage family are not good to eat? Some days I get very tired and a little dark under the eyes not due to anything I've been doing. Some days I am soooo tired! I find exercise REALLY helps me.

Green tea needs to be avoided. You need to make sure you wait at least an hour to eat after taking the meds. Calcium can not be taken for 4 hours. I am also on synthroid, I have been taken it for about 15 months.

I have not heard about the cabbage. I haven't had any luck losing weight though.
Are you in the "O" blood type? I read that with that blood type hypothyroidism is most common.
Getting mine diagnosed was very difficult, I had all the symptoms, but the bloodwork kept coming back normal.

No I am not in the O blood type. I don't have much of a problem with my weight. I do exercise alot whether it be on a exercise machine indoors or walking and such outdoors. I do here for most people with this disease it is difficult to lose, not for me so far. I was diagnosed after my ds was born, not directly after but months later. Blood test was done. My only real symptom was hair loss but who would know as hair loss is common post pregnancy. Had a good doctor. Am thinking about taking the natural thyroid hormone, not sure yet though. No green tea, haven't heard of that either, don't like it much anyway so that's a great thing! Thanks for the website. :)
