I can't remember what to use to clean my coffee pot. I cannot get it clean inside. oes someone know what I can use?

By Colette on Sunday, August 1, 2004 - 11:08 am:

vinegar and water. Run it through a reg cycle with a vinegar and water mixture and then run it through a reg cycle with just water until the vinegar smell is gone.

Ditto Colette! Works great.

If you want to get off old residue, try using a paste of baking soda and water. Use a clean coffee filter as a "scrubber"....this works wonderfully, and can be followed (after rinsing well) with the vinegar/water cycle to get it sparkling clean!

Yes vinegar and water work wonders I had no idea and my husband did it one day. He said he heard that would work and it is amazing our coffe smells great and our hot water smells like "hot water".

Ice, lemon, and salt. I used to work in a restaurant and we did this every night and it works great! Put some ice in the pot, squeeze lemon juice in, and lot of salt and swirl it around. That will work for the pot. For the actual coffee maker, yes vinegar works great!

Use white vinegar. Brown vinegar leaves a residue

We have a coffee maker that has a carafe - to clean the maker DH uses vinegar and water -- to clean the carafe he uses Polident tablets, puts one in with hot water lets it sit for a while then uses a bottle brush or sponge dish scrubber with a handle.

Thank you all.
It worked really well.
