I am trying to think of a craft or activity about Jacob and Esau, about Esau giving up his birthright. I was thinking they could make a "stew" but I don't want to use food because it is for children's church and that would be way to messy. I am open for anything......

Good luck! It seems you were on the right track with the soup, maybe you could make a pretend soup though, made with construction paper and materials like that. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. I hope you get some ideas. maybe there is a site for children's ministry on the web you could look into.
