My DS some how managed to get into me craft box. Well he took bright yellow craft paint & painted my linen, beige carpet, & himself. How do I get it out of the carpet??? I have tried the woolight carpet cleaner & that didn't seem to work. I am renting & have always gotten my deposit back. I am just sick over this. I had just checked on him 15 minutes earlier. It got quiet & when I went into my room he looks at me with this big grin & says, "Mommy I paint."

{{{Emily}}} I can't help but chuckle because I have BTDT several times with my DD! *Heavy Sigh* Is the craft paint water based? I'm not sure what to suggest. I've never had much luck getting paint out. A few years ago DD got into fabric paint and got it on the beige carpeting in her bedroom. Now it's cleverly hidden with a throw rug. :) That's just ONE story of her adventures. LOL! The smartest thing we did was buy a large, lockable cabinet where we now store all craft supplies and/or anything she could make a mess with. Good luck!

Thank Trina. I know I will be laughing soon.
This is a kid that has broken 2 child locks in the 2 last weeks. *sigh*

Maybe this will help (I hope, anyway!)

Remove paint from carpet

I, too, have many stories I could share! Lately, my 2 yr old has been "drawing" on my newly painted walls. *sigh* I'll laugh about someday... :)

my ds got into to my red lipstick when he was 2. He put it on his lips perfect. (better than mine looks) He also put it on by baby blue body pillow, my sheets, and a teddy bear my dh gave me. When we moved into the place we live now I went to the store to buy new cleaning stuff to clean the old house and saw this stuff called "Apple action all purpose cleaner by Lysol". I sprayed it on my body pillow that had lipstick on it for 3 yrs and let it set for a bit. Then I washed it and to my complete surprise it came out. You might want to try it. It got coffee out of my white burber carpet too. (my fault) I know I am now laughing about ds lipstick adventure cuz I got a picture that I will show all his girlfriends someday!!

When I was pregnant I decided I wanted to paint our old ugly crib. I was so pleased with it. I used enamel paints to paint Winnie-The-Pooh & friends on the sides. Well, I had the cans on the floor being so careful not to drip. The crib was on a plastic drop cloth so I should have been fine, right? Wrong! The phone rang and in turning to answer it I tripped and literally kicked the can of enamel paint clear across the room with a huge spray of paint covering the entire carpet! I also rented and was absolutely freaked out. To make an embarrassing story short... I was able to get it out. All of it! You need to know what the paint is to remove it. Waterbased will be the easiest but I did get the enamel out using mineral spirits. When I got it completely out I had the carpet steam cleaned (professionally) and no one was the wiser.
Good luck!
Another great product once paint dries is a product called "Goof-off" sold at Home Depot
