Bear Facts - Interesting
Yogi's recent visits to our yard have prompted me to do some research. Interesting stuff. This site also includes "Bear Do's and Don'ts" and numbers of bear sightings in CT towns. Black Bear Facts
Very interesting, Trina. Your Yogi is HUGE! We only have to deal with the occasional nine foot alligator! LOL
AWWWW! Now I would freak if I had an alligator in my yard! LOL! You also have poisonous snakes down there. *Shudder*
I agree with you Trina, alligators and poisonous snakes-ugggh. Sort of a funny story about wildlife-my DH comes in from the garage and tells me we have a rat living in the garage. Now the possibility of that in our area is so slim, I didn't believe him and I figured it was just a squirrel or something. Well I was coming around the corner from the garage yesterday afternoon and spotted the "rat"-it is a baby woodchuck. Probably a male that just got kicked out of the nest. Hopefully he doesn't make a permanent home and start munching on my new flower garden!
I hope I never need to put the black bear facts to use. I know we have bears around here, but I have yet to see one and I'd like to keep it that way. My neighbor told me we had coyote pups in my front yard Saturday night. they were playing in my mulch pile. I wonder where the mother was?
LOL, Meredith! Well, woodchucks are rodents, like rats. That's similar to my DH and the "mouse with racing stripes". It was a chipmunk! LMBO! Colette, Wow, I wonder if the coyote den is close by. I saw a coyote run through my yard once a couple years ago. We've had red fox, too.
