And, along with Colorado, Utah has the least risk of heart disease.
Well, we have a saying in Louisiana. "Thank goodness for Mississippi...they keep us out of 50th place." That goes for everything...education, health, etc. LOL With all of the oil refineries here we are known as cancer alley
We are number 46 and I think 49th in Education..GO TENNESSEE!
I grew up in NH (#1) and am currently in CT (#6). Not too shabby!
I grew up and am on the border of NH (1) and I live in Massachusetts which is #5
I grew up in NJ, #18. I think my part of NJ (the Pine Barrens) would rank higher if we could pass off North Jersey to NY!! LOL. I live in TX (#35) now.
I think we rank significantly lower in education. Does anyone have a link to the education list?
Louisiana - 49 Ouch!
Awww..Chicago brings us down to 30! (at least, I'll blame it on them, LOL) As for education, I know Illinois will be rock-bottom. I think I'll move back to Kansas.
We're not as bad as I thought we'd be with the stressful lifestyles around Washington.
Wow, I'm in Alabama, and I was expecting lower than a 43 (sad isn't it?) And Pam- We say that same exact thing in Alabama!!! LOL
I'm in CA and I thought we would be lower. Of course I live in the 2nd worst area of CA as far as air quality and toxic chemical exposure, right behind the Los Angeles area. I have no idea where we sit educationally.
Ohio is #26, pretty much right in the middle !
Pamt is right..........and I live right in cancer alley..........along the river, surrounded by grain elevators and oil refineries. Not to mention the barge and ship traffic daily, and barge fleets all around us.
Florida....#42!!!!! That stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I expected much worse for CA. I immediately scrolled to the bottom to see which place it ranks and was surprised not to find it there. Now, I KNOW we've gotta be low in education.... especially with some of the people I run into. I live in San Diego Co. so the air qualityis definitely better than L.A. (sorry Tink )
Just for fun, here's a "smartest state ranking: http://www.morganquinto.com/edrank03.htm
Yep...check again. Mississippi kept Louisiana afloat with Louisiana #47 and Mississippi #48--LOL. That's why in Baton Rouge 1 out of every 3 kids go to private schools. It's just THAT bad.
Wisconsin is #14! There are lots who smoke and lots who are overweight (me included, but not for smoking). I don't know if we are THAT healthy.
Well, we scored 17th in the smartest state ranking. I thought it would be quite a bit lower. I was pleasantly surprised.
We are #1 in the smartest state ranking and dh wants to move to Vermont which is #2.
How wild, Colette. CT was the smartest last year, but we've been bumped to #3 this year. If anyone wants to check their state: http://www.morganquitno.com/edrank.htm
