First day of school
My two older dks start school tomorrow. We are in a year-round district so they only had 10 days between school years. My ds will be starting Kindergarten. He is so excited and I am so nervous! He will have an aide there with him so I know she will help out with anything he needs and I will be there for a big part of the day tomorrow. I'm not ready for this! My dd is nervous for 2nd grade. She really loves school and since they are year-round she will have most of the same students in her class. She tends to be a bit anxious but always does fine once she is in a situation. I'll let you know how it goes for both of them!
Best of luck to all you dks. Kindergarten..what a fun time. Let us know how everything goes. You are probably more nervous then they are
How do you like year round? It seems strange to have your first day of school right in the middle of the summer LOL. Good luck to both of your DK's! I'm sure they'll both do great
DS had a great day! He was one of the best behaved kids in his class and his aide had nothing but good things to say. His teacher seems to be really positive about having a special needs child in her class. DD wasn't in the class she wanted to be in but most of last year's class in in here with her and one of her best friends is in this class with her. She had a different teacher last year. I'm glad they both had such a positive experience. Year round is good, in my opinion. Most of the schools here are. This town is really growing and the elementary schools don't have room for all of the children at once. My ds is in therapy all year so it really nothing new. He only gets three weeks off all year long. My dd had less time to be bored than we did when we had 3 months off as a kid.
Glad to hear all went well Hope they continue to enjoy it!
I'm glad they had a great first day! Our elementary school is quickly filling up as well. They have already moved on 3 new buildings in addition to the regular school building. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go year round eventually.
