I HATE COMPUTERS
Someone has put the gris-gris on me. My hard drive crashed in my computer last week. Luckly I backed up my photos and my smilies because my IT guy was unable to recover ANYthing at all - he said the hard drive was *fried*. Well, he has it ready, but has no idea when he can get it to me since he's working out of the area today and tomorrow. I'm going to TRY to get it from him at home this weekend. Meanwhile, we've been using Jeff's laptop at home so we don't go through withdrawal. Well, guess what?? This 2 year old Dell laptop that was EXPENSIVE crashed this morning! I call my IT guy and he said it sounds like the screen, which would be about $700 or $800 to replace and it would have to go back to Dell. I'm SO upset. I haven't even told my son. We didn't buy the extended warranty with Dell, so we are *******. There are some other things going on as well this week, and I feel like I just can't handle another thing right now. And I'm stuck at work and can't do anything about any of them.
I'm sorry. I hope things get better.
You will receive the bills of all the stuff I break, including hospital bills I hope things get better also!
What does gris-gris mean? Is that like a hex or something? If it is, maybe there is a counter-spell to make everything right again. I do hope things get better...and soon!
Yep, it's a hex. You have to remember that Karen is from New Orleans, which means voodoo - a gris gris is usually a small bag worn on the person, containing stuff of various kinds, supposed to bring good luck. But someone could curse you by putting a gris gris on you. Here's a good explanation http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/g/gris-gris.html Oh, Karen - you have my sympathy. But I never buy the extended warranty, because mostly they are just not worth the money.
Well, there is good news tonight. My computer guy managed to get my computer to me after all! And there is even better news....althought it may only be temporary....Jeff has a friend who dabbles in computer repair, etc. and he claimed that with a laptop, if you reset the ram, the screen will work. Of course I scoffed at that one. Well the joke was on me, because it works - at least for now! So.........I'm happy, I have my computer back and I hope everything runs smoothly!!
Great news... Best of luck...
