Kids and Shows (Broadway style)

Have any of you taken your kids to see a show? I bought tickets to take DD to see Beauty and the Beast in a few weeks. One of our big theaters puts on the classic fairy tale shows every Summer. We are going to give this show a try and see how she does. She is already asking about Cinderella in August!:)

We have season tickets to the Broadway series, but we didn't start taking our kids till they were older than your dd. (partly due to cost and partly due to subject).
Your dd will love Beauty and the Beast. I swear the transformation is real!!!!

My brother took his 4 year old to see Lion King in the theater. It sounds like he loved it.

I have only taken mine to see Toy Story 2 on Ice. My dd liked it, my son was terrified of watching the movie after seeing it on Ice...don't know why. He was probably 2 at the time.

My girls love to see broadway style shows. They've been going since about age 2. We've seen Beauty and the Beast! It really is fascinating to watch. My DD (4) wants to be a ballerina when she grows up, so one of her favorites to see every year is The Nutcracker. That is put on by Ballet West.
You'll have to let us know if she likes it. We haven't seen Cinderella.....I would love to though!

My 4 and 6 year olds go with us all the time. They went to Music Man this past fall and it was three hours long! They love to go and think of it as a special treat. I believe that children can learn how to act in a theater at a very early age. My two have been going since they were two.

We have not done those kind of shows but my kids have watched every show there was (age appropriate of course) on our cruises. They love them!

Thanks, everyone. I'm excited to expose her to theater. We watched the Tony awards and she went NUTS over a number from Wicked. (We had to play it over and over again so she could sing along and act out the scene too!) I LOVE Musicals, and I always have her watch with me. I thought this Summer production would be great! I'm not sure how big of a production it will be, but the price is great and she's interested in going! I'll keep you posted. We go July 21st.:)
