Unemployment ! Need to Vent!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: Unemployment ! Need to Vent!!
By Tonya on Saturday, June 26, 2004 - 03:28 pm:

I am going to explode. I got a letter in the mail today from Michigan Unemployment offices letting me know there has been a report filed from my previous agency that I have never contacted them after my lay-off to seek employment. BULL! I was in the office the day after my lay-off turning in an updated resume so they could start recruiting for a new job for me I left them messages looking for work and they would call and say they had nothing not they are trying to cancel my pay coming in from unemployment because of this. I have to send a letter of explaination showing how Kelly Services was wrong and I deserve my pay!!

I just counted and I have e-mails over 50 resumes, faxed over 20 and mailed over a dozen and nothing but 3 interviews.

I am happy to say I go on a call back interview again 1 other person this coming up Wednesday so my chances are 50% for this job and I really want it so I will let you ladies know what happens. But can you believe they have the nerve to say I never contacted them especially when I was in the DA@* office to give them my resume.

Fight for it Tonya!

Most companies do not want their unemployement rates to go up, so they challenge most people who collect:(

Sorry, did taxes and worked closely with the Unemployment Comp sector of the states for companies who file taxes.

Do what every the Michigan Unemployment needs, you will win, especially since you have those emails:)

Thinking about you:)

Good luck on the call back. I agree with Marg, fight for your unemployment.

Oh, Tonya. What a pain in the you know what. I hope you get it straightened out and good luck at the call back! :) Hugs!

Fight it! Sounds like you have a lot of back up. Our firm fights every single unemployment claim that comes up. (My office is across from the personnel lady's office and hear all about it.)

I think it is common too. Any way to get out of having to pay. Fight it and good luck on that 2nd interview.....

Well it sounds as if you shouldn't have a problem proving your case because you have all of those e-mails. I pray that it will work out for you.

I had to fight for unemployment once. But it sound like you are going to get a job fast anyway.
