Morning sickness tips......

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: Morning sickness tips......

An email friend of mine sent me this message. With all the others here in the early months, I thought you might find it helpful.

Dana

Hi Danaleigh,
I am going to horn in here for some unsolicited advice about the
morning sickness... Saltines by the bed helped me. Before I ever
picked my head off the pillow I ate a cracker to soak up the sour in
my stomach. Beyond that, there are some acupuncture points that
were helpful. One is in your ear. If you put your finger on the
little pointy part of your ear and slide back towards the back of
your ear, you will run into the flat part of the ear (not the ear
canal, but just beyond it). Use your fingernail or pencil eraser to
rub this area (it will be a little tender to pressure if you have
the right spot) So, flybabies, how many of you have your fingers in
your ears now? Anyhow, next one is just below your nose in that
little divot above your upper lip. Again, it will be tender, rub it
for count of ten. (no fingers in the nose while you are there)
Next one is about 1 to 2 inched below your belly button. This one
was very tender on me and the one that did the most good. There is
another one on the outside of your calf about 2 to 3 inches below
your knee between the shin and the calf. Again very tender. Sorry
for such a long post, but I thought it may help you.

Dana, I cracked up halfway through because I WAS sitting here with my finger in my ear. Since my tubes are tied, I won't ever need these (Pray God) but it is a good thing to know and pass on to friends who are having trouble with morning sickness.

Funny, Tink :) I'm sure those are good points to remember as well if you ever get motion sickness on a trip too. Or any other reason you aren't feeling good, I suppose.

Also candied ginger. There is a guy on ebay selling a pound of it for 3.00. (He sells alot of nuts and stuff like that.)(Shipping is about 8 dollars.

The health food store sells too.

Sea bands help some people too. Peligrina water helps some people. (You know the water from Italy - I don't like it at all)

Staying out of smelling places like dirty bathrooms - no smells.
