Mary Kay users...
What do you think of Mary Kay? I have heard some very positive things about the products. I'm also thinking of buying some. I will likely have to go to a "party" to purchase some stuff. Are the products expensive? Thanks.
I've been using Mary Kay for about 5 years and I really do like it. Some of their stuff is expensive, but it lasts a long time. I love their TimeWise cleanser and moisterizer. I also like the foundation and makeup (when I wear it--about once a week or so). It's very natural when applied correctly and isn't "heavy", if ykwim. I had a facial once from a friend that sold another line of products and man, I felt like I had a mask on! I do have one friend that can't wear their products, even though they are hypo-allergenic. She did have a reaction (rash), but that was about 7 or 8 years ago and I'm sure their products have changed since then. I have sensitive skin and don't have any problems with Mary Kay. You also have to find the right consultant (and you CAN be picky--there are LOTS out there!). Some can be extreamly pushy. I loved my first consultant, but unfortunatly she didn't move to Colorado with me! My current consultant calls me about once every three months and she keeps track of when I buy things so she can guesstimate when I will run out. She also emails me about once a month. If you really want to try their stuff, I'd suggest buying one or two things and trying them for a while before buying the whole package--which would really set you back $$$. Good luck!
Try ebay first! I get my make-up cheaper on ebay than my mother-in-law can get it with her discount (she is a rep). I love everything BUT the foundation. Yvonne
I forgot about E'bay! Thanks
Forgot about ebay? No way! Kidding! LOL
I use Mary Kay and have used it for about 15 yrs now. (since high school) My sister tried selling it yrs ago and thats when I first tried it. I have always liked it. For some reason I have always ended up living next to a rep! lol Its much easier to walk next door and get some makeup than to drive to Dillards. I used Clinique before that and didnt like it for some reason. But my Mother LOVES Clinique. I also love Estee Lauder and Lancome. Sometimes I will buy something in order to get the free gift they are offering. Those are always so good.
You can get some great deals on eBay. Just be aware that what you're buying could be outdated and may be something another customer returned. My consultant (and I think they're all supposed to do this) guarentees everything. If I'm not happy with a product for whatever reason--don't like the color, etc--I can return it to her for a replacement or refund. You won't get that on eBay. You also won't get the personal assistance of which colors or products may be best for you. I also don't think they're supposed to be selling stuff on eBay or places like that, although a lot do it. Just be careful.
I love their timewise cleanser. I also like the teen line, it smells great, but I am allergic to it, so I can't use it. I use EL mosturizer because it smells good and works good, mary kay stuff has a clay smell, if that doesn't bother you it is great stuff.
I was a Mary Kay rep 6 years ago and really enjoyed their products. They do last a long time. But I have converted...LOL I am now an ID Bare mineral user and I absolutely, Love the mineral foundation, blush, glimmer eyeshadows, etc... The mineral foundation already has SPF, its all natural, and I have no reaction or breakouts what-so-ever. LOVE IT....
I like Bare minerals too, I have used Mary Kay for years I like their foundation, but I find Bare minerals is better when it is really hot and humid.
LOL Yvonne. Truthfully I STILL have never bought anything on-line! When I get some time.....I am eager to check this E'bay thing out! Haven't heard of Bare minerals, but I will look for the product. Thanks!!!!!
