Have a Serious Question!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: Have a Serious Question!

Okay, I wrote yesterday about having hot flashes early in the mornings when I get up. Well I just had my period on May 23 - 30, that was about 2 weeks ago. My periods seem like they last forever now 7-8 days. Anyway, I just went to the bathroom and I am bleeding. It scared me because out of the last 19 years of having periods, I have never had two periods, been late, skipped or anything abnormal. I had my tubes tied last April after having Morgan. I told my husband I don't want to freak out and call the on call doctor tonight, but it worries me. What could it be? Some of you mentioned early menapause about me having hot flashes, could this be a sign of that too? It is strange. I am sure if I was having a tubal pregnancy or something wouldn't I be in pain?

If it's hormonal (and it certainly sounds like it is), that could definitely cause abnormal cycles. I agree, I doubt it's anything to "freak out" about tonight, but I would call your doctor tomorrow and let him/her know what's going on. What a bummer!

Hmmm well- I have this problem, but I am 42 and I think you are too young.

I think it's a hormone change like nerdmom said. I would call the doctor tomorrow.

Any change like this upsets me too.

Just call me a dumb blonde :) It is time for my monthly period, no wonder I am bleeding and having hot flashes. It has been 28 days. Duh. I am so sorry for posting this before I really thought about it, I just got ahead of myself. I feel better now. My dh was laughing at me after we got the calendar out.

Don't feel bad! If your periods are lasting 7 or 8 days, no wonder you feel like it couldn't be time AGAIN!

Exactly, my period was 9 days long. That is awful and that is why I got confused and thought, no I just had my period it couldn't be that.
