Nails

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: Nails

I'm loving the long, pregnancy nails, but I have one that is cracked. I keep trying all sorts of things to keep it. I've tried resin, glue and powder, and linen wraps. What am I doing wrong?

Those of you who do your own nails, what do you use?

Is the tip just cracked?? If so, take a cotton ball, and some nail glue, pull a THIN bit of cotton off, put a dab of glue at the base of the crack. Pull the cotton through the glue and nail, so some is glued in. Trim excess cotton, and gently file/buff until smooth. Paint with a hardener, or put a thin coat of acrylic on. (you'll have to get powder and liquid to do the acrylic, but this will last the longest. I have nice nails naturally, but when one cracks I get frustrated and just cut it off anyway. This is a trick I've read in a few magazines, so you may want to see if we have any nail techs on the board. HTH!! :)
