WORKING AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: WORKING AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

I was wondering if any of you know of the job qualifications of working @ WDW. I thought someone had told me that you have to be a resident of Orlando, is this true?

By Kate on Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 12:18 pm:

I don't know...I worked there as part of their College Program which Disney runs all year long, so there are always huge numbers of kids who work there and don't 'live' there. But how do you plan to work there if you live in RI??

By Marg on Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 12:22 pm:

Once knew an artist who worked in the animation department. He loved it, but to their family it was cheap to live in orlando.

So I'm no help, it just sounded like so much fun. He enjoyed it but moved up to "bigger and better things."

We hope to one day live there. Thinking of getting a 2nd home to rent for now. Not now but thinking of the future.

The must have a huge HR department. Give them a call, or write a letter introducing yourself and talking about your qualifications (enclose a resume). In the letter, ask for their hiring inormation. It can't hurt.

I worked at disney and no it is not a requirement to live in Orlando. They are not the best paying company. I did displays and visuals (fancy way of saying I did store windows) in 1990 and made $6.60 and hour. Hardly enough to pay rent. I left to work for Home Depot.
