Kids and smoke detectors - A must see!
Warning: Smoke Alarms Don't Wake Kids Up! The vocal alarms are now on the market, and we're going to order one for each child's room.
I think if you sleep far away from your children these would be necessary, but in our case our bedrooms are all clustered together and I don't see the need. I can't believe the one family leaves their twelve year old daughter to babysit their three year old son AT NIGHT WHILE SLEEPING! I'd never stay out that late with a young babysitter at home. Yikes! It's great they have discovered this issue and designed an alarm that will work for this problem.
We have the voice alarms. It actually makes the loud noise, and says fire, fire. It also is a carbon monoxide detector. Dh got them at Home Depot a few months ago. Our bedroom is at the back of the house, and the boys sleep at the front. I definitely feel better with these installed.
Thanks Trina! I have thought about this many times because I have seen my kids not wake up when ours goes off.
Wow...I am ill watching that. We will be ordering the voice ones as well. Thank you!!!
Wow! Dawn helped me post this very same article about a month ago, I am glad that this finally got everyone's attention! It was a eye opener.
Sorry, Mom2three. How did I miss that post?!
It was during December i believe with the holidays I'm sure that was the reason it was overlooked, no big deal Trina, glad that people are seeing it now though it is scary!
Yeah, we got it posted and hardly anyone noticed it! LOL!
Ohhhh, well that explains it. I had a lot going on in December, including a hospital stay. Not fun.
Wow, sorry Mom2three, didn't mean to ignore it. I don't remember seeing that post. Yes we were all busy during the holidays, that's probably the reason it got over looked. That is an eye-opener. I'll have to show my dh and family members this!
