Quote about a Great Grandmother?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2004: Quote about a Great Grandmother?
By Fraggle on Monday, June 7, 2004 - 10:22 am:

My sister is making a scrapbook for my Grandmother (she turns 90 this summer). On my page I have included a picture of her with my daughters and I would like to add a quote or saying about Great Grandmothers. Anyone know of one or know where I might find one? TIA.

Well what is one of your favorite things she said to you? What are your feelings & your girls feelings about her. You could quote your girls instead of using a published quote.

Thanks for the ideas Emily. I actually used to collect quotes and would love to add one that is special to me but I just can't find the right one. I think I may just write a personal note to her and my oldest daughter is always telling me that "Great Grammy is Great" so maybe I will add that, too.

I ended up getting some books at the library about Grandmothers and it has inspired me to write down memories to create into some kind of scrapbook or something just from me. I was thinking about just using phrases (like "pecan nut rolls"-her specialty, "african violets"-she always had a ton growing under a plant light near the organ and "crossword puzzles"-she was doing a crossword puzzle every time we went to visit. Her vision is very poor and she needs to use a very strong magnifying glass to read fine print now so I figured if I printed these out somehow in large type it would be easy for her to see. I don't know, I'm just trying to think of ideas right now.

Well it sounds like a lovely tribute to her. I am sure it will turn out great.
