Not me, my cat! We got her from a rescue about 6 months ago. She was supposedly spayed but we thought she went into heat about a month ago. We brushed it off because she was spayed. Well, tonight I think she looks a lot fatter and when I took a closer look, her nipples are larger and pink. I am going to be furious if she is pregnant! We do not have the room for a litter of kittens and no one to give them to. We will be taking her to the vet to find out for sure but there really isn't much of a doubt in my mind. Anyone know how common it is for spaying to be unsuccessful? Gggrrr!

A spay can not go bad, they never spayed her! I would contact the rescue group that you received her from. If she is pregnant you might think about going ahead and spaying her and aborting the babies. There are SO MANY unwanted kittens right now. I run a dog and cat rescue and we have over 30 bottle feeders at the moment plus another four that just came in. Also, the original rescue group should pay for everything.

Do they remove all the reproductive organs in a cat, too? In a dog, they remove uterus, tubes AND ovaries, so no way could a dog get pregnant after they were spayed.

I agree that the cat probably wasn't spayed. Our shelter is overrun with cats right now. You can get 2 cats for the price of one. However, we can't get any cats, since my DH is allergic and they make him miserable.
