We are leaving for Disney World tomorrow morning. I have only been there once (when I was 12) and was wondering if there might be a special place that any of you really liked to visit for fun or any really good places that you recommend for dinner? I am sure the trip will be loads of fun anyway, but I have already had some people mention certain places to visit so I would like more ideas.
Ohanas at the Polynesian Resort is fantastic. Their dinning room overlooks Cinderella's castle and if you time it right you can eat dinner while watching the fireworks. And the food is very tasty!
We went in May of last year. It was boiling hot. Our best investment the whole trip was one of those little fans you wear around your neck with ice water in it. Portable air conditioning! They really help you stay cool and the kids loved them. Of course, I paid $7 a piece for them and then found out I could have bought them at The Dollar Store for $1 a piece. But, hey, we were on vacation! Pack some extra clothes for the kids and take them over to Epcot to the fountain! My kids loved the fountain and we got some really cute pictures. Also, at Epcot, you can visit various "countries" we took the tour of all of them, my kids loved "Paris"! I thought they (the kids) would like The Magic Kingdom the best (they are 7 and 4) but they liked Epcot the best. We stayed five days and went to each of the four parks and then the fifth day we had "kid's choice" and the kids picked Epcot! So we went to Epcot twice. Have fun.
We like the fish place at Epcot center. The living seas with the big fish tank. Really I didn't like the food at epcot center or anywhere in disney world either. French was terrible Italian food - just the pasta okay. Morocan was warmed up. Can't they make it fresh. Big lines for the german food. Must be good... I can't remember if the rain forest restaurant in Animal Kingdom was any good...
My DD(7) just saw me typing about Disney World (Kid Heaven on Earth) and she said there is a game "Disney Toon Tag" in Future World at Epcot that is lots of fun. She won "best hider!" She played the part of "Minnie Mouse" and I (mom) was "Donald Duck". I was voted "best tagger" but I couldn't tag my DD! She also said she liked the Pizza at Epcot and she and her Dad split a large Coke(a rare treat at our house). She did not like the show at Cinderella's castle so much because there were "villians" and it scared her. She didn't like the "bad parts". She loved the parade at Magic Kingdom. She got selected to be in "The Lion King" parade at Animal Kingdom. She loved "The Lion King" show. MGM Studios has lots of shows and she got to watch the "Playhouse Disney" show and meet "Bear in The Big Blue House". Overall, Epcot was her favorite. Now, my four year old dd has to have her say. Her favorite part of Walt Disney World was the fountain at Epcot Center. She loved meeting Cinderella and Mickey Mouse. She liked the Arial the Mermaid Show at MGM. And her favorite part of the Animal Kingdom was "The Lion King show". She also liked the Merry-Go-Round in The Magic Kingdom behind Cinderella's castle. My DD are chatterboxes, too. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Have fun.
