Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that last Wed am my precious baby Ella Grace was born at 7:20 in the morning. I had a really amazing labor...I started active labor about 7 pm on Tues the 18th. I had a natural labor without medication thru what should have been the end. It was really magical and a great experience. My husband was a great partner and my midwife couldn't have been a better support. I was 10 cm and fully effaced by midnight. However I pushed and pushed for about 3 hours and Ella never changed stations. She was at 0 station at my exam on Tuesday morning and by 2 am she was STILL AT 0 STATION! At 4 am I had to have an epidural to see if I could rest and not push because her heart rate was significantly dropping each time I pushed. So I did ultimately have a caesaran birth after waiting for her to drop during contractions. I was very sad to have to undergo surgury after all that work. I was very happy with the care I received because I know that after all was said and done, she really just was not going to be born alive and well if I hadn't had the surgury.

So here I am a new mama! Im tired, sore , elated, exhausted, thrilled, weepy, content and restless. I love starring at her beautiful face and watching her daddy take such great care of the two of us.

I probably wont be here so often for a while, but thanks for all the support and I will check in between sleeping and feeding!

It sounds like you feel like every new mom! Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful and healthy baby girl! I love the name, so feminine. Take good care of her and yourself. Post pictures when you get a chance.

Great news, Sarah! Best wishes to you and your family. I had a similar experience with my first baby. Many hours of labor that ended with a c-section. I had the same attitude as you. The surgery was necessary. The objective is to keep mom and baby healthy. {{{HUGS}}} BTW, my Mom's name is Ella.

thanks for all your congrats! My husband is going to download a bunch of pictures to our computer today, so I will try to get one up soon!

Baby is nursing allllllll night it seems and she likes to sleep a lot during the day. One day I hope that she gets this reversed, but in the meantime, its midnight snacking and late night tv for the two of us. I feel like I haven't been up late enough to see conan O'Brian since I was 20!
