Does anyone here sell on Ebay?
We have some things we want to sell on Ebay but not sure how or what the cost is to do it. I have an ebay account that I buy through would I sell through that same account? Any advice would be appreciated.
I sell my cross stitching on ebay, you have to have a credit card to do it though, this is to ensure that you don't scam others out of their money. You do use the same account to sell and buy. You just hit sell and it will walk you through the process. A good hint would be to make the item end on a sunday so that you get alot more people looking on weekends!
Yes, it is fairly easy. I sell random things in my house because I hate being a pack rat. Once you enter your item description and all the info it will tell you how much it will cost to sell it. Its usually not very much. Another catch is that if you accept Paypal for the buyers to pay by they now charge you to use them (which is a small fee too but it all adds up). Good luck and let us know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks ladies. I remember that using paypal costs so I did it as cash/money order or checks only. Hopefully my stuff sells. Well see. It looks like I might use ebay to sell some baby cloths. What happens if your items don't sell can you relist them without paying or do you pay the fee over again.
if you relist them you do have to pay again but if it still does not sell then they will reimburse you.
Tonya, just to let you know - it may be worthwhile to use Paypal. A lot of people won't bid on your auction if you don't offer Paypal - it is the #1 form of payment on Ebay. Many people don't like sending checks/money orders or they want there stuff sent fast. Just a suggestion... I've found that I sell better, and make more money on an auction, if I offer Paypal. It really does make a difference in how much your item sells for.
i agree with amy!
Tonya Paypal is *free* as long as you do not accept credit cards. You need to make sure that your paypal logo in your auction does not have credit cards or you will be forced to take them. State clearly in your auctions that you do not accept credit cards only existing funds. It is true you will lose many bids by not taking paypal. Make sure you take clear photos as well. Make sure any clothing is ironed - seems like a lot of trouble but it's worth it. If you would like to use more than one photo on your auction (ebay only lets you have one free) I suggest using photobucket and using the html they provide so you can insert as many photos as you like.
