The wildlife preserve in my yard!
It has been raining like crazy here and my gosh our lawn looks like a pheasant habitat! Any time it dries up enough to mow, my dh (farmer) is trying desperately to get the crops planted, as well as keeping things running at the farm (which means mowing out there--his parents live there), and here I am, working ft and trying to drive dd's everywhere...we haven't mowed in ages! Then I had a window of opportunity last Friday, and I couldn't get the blankety-blank mower started! THEN my dh bought a new one, only to find that it had a defective starter, so there goes another day or two... If the rain holds off today until dh gets off work, he's PROMISED to mow!!! Keep your fingers crossed (and hopefully the city won't issue an ordinance violation for our grass, LOL)
LOL Janet , where do you live ? we are getting a lot of rain also. The farmers near us are having a hard time getting things planted too. It is suppose to rain all week.I have to mow also and I just heard thunder. Well , let`s hope that things stay dry. Good luck.
I'm in central Illinois. It's looking pretty much like rain any second, and has that "storm feel" to it...I may try out the new mower after I get off work, if I can beat the weather! LOL
Hope it dries up for your Janet!! We got lucky, the people who own this 4-plex laid the sod at the wrong time of year. I kid you not when I say we have been here since December and the grass just got mowed this weekend for the first time. It didn't grow AT all!! LOL! Well, if you decide to open up a safari in the back yard let us know!!
Grass is mowed!! Woo-hoo!! Of course, I finished in the rain, but it's done. I'm sure there are many displaced, homeless animals now...but the neighbors are happy (I had to stop several times because the long, wet grass kept gumming up the blades--it was that bad).
