Ok-I have to take the ovulation test kits BUT I took them last month which was my first time taking them and I really dont get how to actually read them. You would think I would understand since I am going through all this fertility stuff but I really dont. Everytime I take it I always have two lines, you have a reference line and a surge line, now do you ALWAYS have both lines and just when the surge line is darker then the reference line that is when your ovulating? LOL I have the Clearblue EASY and I still dont get it! I feel stupid asking but I needed advice. I am pretty sure that is how you use them, just making sure! THANKS GIRLS! BTW I met one of my neighbors yesterday while going around to yard sales and she has twins thanks to the help of Clomid 150-WHICH is what I took this month to help get pregnant-AHHH LOL

Jessica, I can't answer your question. However, I suggest you post a new thread and head it something like "Question about ovulation test kits". That is more likely to get the attention of people who can answer your question.

And, no question is stupid until you have been told the answer at least six times - my rule.

Info found on web might help:
"How do Ovulation Predictor Kits Work?
Depending on which ovulation predictor kit you buy, most of them will detect an LH surge 24 to 36 hours before ovulation occurs with a darker line than the sample line on the test stick.
A line that is lighter than the sample line indicates that you are not within 24 to 36 hours of ovulation.

How do I use the Ovulation Predictor Kits?
You will need to read the instructions on the box for details on how to use the specific type of ovulation predictor kit that you bought.
Generally, you urinate directly on the test stick and then wait about 5 minutes for the results. One line will be the test line (sample line to go by) and one line will indicate whether you are near ovulation. Most OPK's will detect within 24 to 36 hours of ovulation (LH surge).

The line will be either lighter or darker than the test line. If the line is lighter, you are not within 24 to 36 hours of ovulation and may need to retest in a couple of days. If the line is darker, you are ovulating, near ovulation or ovulation has already occurred."

I don't think clomin causes twins too often. The package insert said something about this.

I really like the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. There is computer software that goes with it that helps calculate your fertility thru physical changes in Temp, cervical fluid, and cervical positioning. You can also track your results in a hard copy chart form, but I found the computer program to be really an asset. All this to say that she gives detailed information about all kinds of things from ovulation kits to normal ranges of how your body may act at differnt times in your cycle. I really think this is a fantastic book and have known several people who have used their tools to concieve or not concieve depending upon their situation.

Good luck!

ok now its time for my silly question.. just kidding Jessica ;):).. though my question might still sound silly. i am using OPK track O. the days i was suppose to ovulate, the test (midstream)were negative. Two days over my OD, i felt extra cm and basically had a sixth sense. i tested and there was a faint line, now i know that the test line should be stronger than the control line but in the 4 other tests i had done.. it was completely blank (ofcourse control line was there). surely there was some lh surge? any comments anyone?
