We just got a call from base. We are not to leave home tonight for any reason! We have to call by 6 am to let them know we are okay. There has been some talk of terrorist attacks over here!

WOW!!! I hope you're okay. I will keep you in my thoughts! Stay safe and stay inside!

Kenna, Prayers for you and your family to stay safe. That is scary. I guess it is good that you got a warning or heads up on this.
Please keep us posted.

OMG, how awful. Please keep us posted. So hard when something like this hits home. Mind you, 911 happened so far away from us, didn't feel so far away though. Hang in there!

By Emily7 on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 03:05 pm:

I will keep your family as well as all the military families over there in my prayers tonight. I couldn't handle it! Stay strong.

By Ladypeacek on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 03:07 pm:

I think is not a secret since the terrorists already know what they are planning, maybe if it gets out we are watching they won't do it! I feel ok, just a little worried.

By Rayanne on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 05:06 pm:

I will keep you in my thoughts. Stay inside definately!!!!!!!! Be safe.

Make sure you let us know how you are. We'll worry and pray. I know, if we pray we shouldn't worry, but Hey we're human. Stay safe and be careful! {{{Kenna}}}

I certainly remember how this feels. We were in Frankfurt in May, l972, when the Terrace Club (US Army Officer’s Club, Frankfurt) was bombed by the Baader-Meinhof Terrorists. One Army officer was killed and 13 others were injured. The main entrance and the ceiling of the Terrace caved in with the blast. After that, our security for the entire complex was really high. They made us get out of our cars whenever we drove on or off the complex. Then they searched everything including under the car with mirrors. Whenever a plane broke the sound barrier overhead, every wife was on her balcony looking to see if smoke was coming from the IG Farben Building where most of our husbands worked. We had armed soldiers riding all the school busses. It wasn't a fun time.

Well we made it and are free to go out today. We aren't sure if anything happened in London, just that there was alot of protestors and out front of the bases they were trhowing things at military cars and americans. BUt we are safe, Thanks everyone!

By Bobbie~moderatr on Saturday, May 15, 2004 - 01:12 am:

My brother in law is deployed.. And they go on lock down a lot. He said the protestors can be very scary. But he served four years in Germany and he speaks fluent German. He never leaves the base in uniform and he passes as German when he is out and about and has had no personal issues... Which is good because he is a CO and has to leave the base even during lock down to track down his way ward boys sometimes... Glad to hear you are all well.. Stay safe and I hope they calm down.
