So happy for DH!

My dh has always driven the lesser of our 2 cars. I had a nicer car when we married (DH-Escort wagon, me-a new Chevy Cavalier), then his car died. I had a longer commute, so I got the new car (New Mazda Protege) and he got my former car, which was then about 8 years old. That car died (Cavalier) and by then we had 2 kids, so again I got the new roomier car loaded with extras (Mazda 626) and he got my former car again. Well, his car died again and THIS time HE got the new-to-us car. My 626 is still in good condition and I'm keeping it and he got a '98 For Explorer. It is red and loaded with 6 disc CD, power everything, leather seats, etc. It is so weird to see him driving an immaculate car and being able to roll down the window with a push of a button-LOL. He's always sacrified the nice, newer car for me and I'm just please to see him riding in a good new-to-him car. Our past 2 car purchases have been new cars, but we have come to realize how financially stupid it is to buy new, so his dad got this car for us at auction for a really good price and we only had to take out a very small loan. Yippee!!! We should own it outright in 2 years. Just wanted to share

Good for your DH!! 2 years and own it is great. We have always bought used car. We just bought a 2001 black grand am GT and I love it...used but in good shape!

I should show this to my husband, this is what happens to him. He longs for a Dodge Ram, but has a 90 Dodge Grand Caravan instead ( that is currently waiting for a new belt)!

thats great!! My dh is happy with he 87 Jeep Wagoneer. He refuses to get a newer car! But of course he is a mechanic so he needs a toy! The funny thing is...that was MY jeep when he met me! He said when he saw my car he knew we would be married, LOL. He wanted it so bad when we were dating that he went out and bought me a 97 Nissan sentra and swaped! Of course it was totaled on our honeymoon! We had another old car but lately it has had problems and i don't want a car for a mechanic, lol! So tomorrow we are getting me a volvo, its a 96 but so nice! AND NO PAYMENTS!! We are paying cash for it, yipppeeee

That's wonderful news! We have a 99 Saturn and a 98 Ford Taurus. The Taurus was new to us a little over a year ago and replaced the 88 Chevy Celebrity that got hit by a deer. So, he got the last 2 NEW cars, but my 98 Taurus was such a big improvement over the 88 Celebrity, that I felt like I got a new car! (New is just so expensive!)

The Saturn is paid for and the payments aren't that bad on the Taurus.
