For some reason I love to buy....

and seem to be "drawn" to buying beautiful ceramic bowls, like fruit bowls. Someone mentioned they loved to buy cookbooks so that got me thinking. Do you have an item that you already have enough of, but continue to keep looking at and buying or want to buy. I can't afford to buy anymore because the bowls that I like are usually too expensive, and really how many fruit bowls etc...can a person use.

cross stitch fabric, lol. I think i have enough to last for the rest of my life and my daughters life if we cross stitched every single day for the rest of our life!! My dh laughs at me cuz i am part of a fabric of the month club so i get 5 more pieces every month! I have every kind in every color! I just can't help it, i just get excited to see my new stuff every month. But really, i will never be able to use it all!

I love bowls too. I just bought the prettiest green ones at Marshall's!:)

Hmmm, I'll probably say buying clothes for my DD. That seems to be my favorite thing to shop for.

By Eve on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 12:18 pm:

Oh, yes and scrapbooking supplies. I shutter to think about how much I have spent! Eeeks! It's fun though!:)

By Christylee on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 12:18 pm:

I love to buy purses and bags... My mom calls me the "baglady" lol... I love getting new ones! I also like to buy greeting cards.

LOL!

Eve, regarding scapbooking supplies, I am going to get equally as obsessive about buying as I am about buying bowls. Actually no, I think scrapbooking supplies will come first. It is amazingly fun allright!

By Texannie on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 12:32 pm:

Shoes (particularly slides) and Capri pants! I also love fun necklaces.

By Kernkate on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 12:41 pm:

I love to buy the decorative flags for outside. I change mine just about every week! Weird huh...but I just love all the different ones I get on Ebay:)

By Kolbysmom on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 12:50 pm:

I buy tons of shampoo and conditioner! lol I like to dry different ones..I think I currently have 5 or 6 sets.

I also buy a lot of nail polish. I probably have about 50-60 bottles.

By Angellew on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 01:30 pm:

I'm the one with all the cookbooks!!! When in the world will I ever use a whole books worth of Thai recipes, I don't know, but I had to have the book!!! No control!!! I have no control at all!!! Cookbooks and music!!!! I have more albums and 45s (and now CDs) than anyone should be allowed to have. Yet, if I see a record convention in the area, I have to go, and will ALWAYS come home with something!!!

Are there anonymous meetings for these things???

By Sue3 on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 01:57 pm:

Lol Nikkie ! You sound like my daughter. If she could she also would buy shampoo and nail polish and lots of it .
I like pottery bowls also.I just started collecting feista ware and I like the bright colors.I like mirrors also.

Car seats! LOL! I have two kids and currently own 10 car seats/boosters. DH teases me all the time and says, "NO MORE!" I secretly bought a new backless booster a few weeks ago. text description I couldn't help it! It was only $15, and a really nice booster! LOL! I just have to be prepared for extra kids and car pooling, etc.! LOL!

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 02:37 pm:

10 car seats? LOL! Yikes! I like to buy stuff for my kids and now we all want to buy stuff for the dog!

By Tink on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 03:46 pm:

OK I am over here yelling at my husband that I am some kind of freak!! There isn't a thing I buy like this. I do not collect anything, I don't obsessively buy any particular type of thing. I don't display any decorative items that I have a lot of. Am I really that unusual? I have about 10 pairs of shoes, 15 pairs of pants, 5 cookbooks, one lrg. decorative bowl, 10 nail polish colors, 4 purses, etc. I'm beginning to think I'm deprived! :) And my husband got off very lucky, I guess.

By Momaroze on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 05:05 pm:

(Ha-Ha) No Tink, maybe you are the normal one!!!

I don't own 15 pair of shoes though!!

No, I see you work out of the home, so that is different than me, A stay at home mom. :)

By Newbabysarah on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 05:08 pm:

Shoes here. It seems like everytime I go to the store I end up with a new pair. Oh well, whatever makes me happy!

By Fionadeassis on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 05:45 pm:

Decorating magazines......I buy them at Safeway when I am getting groceries...then I hide them from Dh for a few weeks...then pull them out as if they are"old magazines".......

Sometimes at night I lie and say I need milk or something so I can go see if there are any new magiazines at the store!

By Clair~moderator on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 06:14 pm:

ROFL Trina!!!!

By Happynerdmom on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 06:28 pm:

Tink, I'm like you...I don't collect anything, and I have a hard time spending money on anything! Most of my impulse buys are clothes for the kids...especially t-shirts for my teenage dd, who sort of collects them. I do love cookbooks, but I ask for them for gifts, I don't buy them myself. I do buy coffee at Starbucks A LOT...does that count? I don't want to be a freak like Tink...LOL

By Amecmom on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 06:45 pm:

Jewelry. I can't get enough. I love estate pieces and custom pieces. I have more than I can ever wear, but when I see something new, well ...
Luckily, I don't buy it too often (maybe once every two years anymore.

Yikes, Ame, me too!!!!! I don't have more than I can wear, but I've been on quite a binge........

By Marcia on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 11:49 pm:

Scrapbooking supplies.

10 car seats?? Car pooling? Extra kids?? You don't have 10 spots in the van!!! LOL

By Dawnk777 on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 12:18 am:

I only have about 5 pairs of shoes, I think. Navy blue dress shoes, black dress shoes, my regular tennies, my nurse whites, and some sandals. If slippers count, I'm up to 6! LOL! I only tend to buy new shoes when a current pair wears out.

By Tink on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 12:50 am:

OK, enough about my shoes. I have 2 pairs of tennies (one for cleaning and yard work, one for out-and-about), black heels, black flats, black boots, 3 pairs of flip-flops, and a pair of dress sandals. I don't buy coffee and I have a group of friends that all subscribe to a different magazine then we switch around, I don't scrapbook, I do read a lot and buy a paperback bestseller once every 2 weeks. Even then, I pass them on to friends cuz I hate to have stuff just taking up space. Am I normal now? :)

By Bea on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 12:58 am:

For years it was brass ..... old .... new ... it didn't matter. Then when my collection reached the 500+ mark and I spent weeks polishing the pieces every year, I decided to start getting rid of some of it. I now have 300+ pieces, but I'm slowly whittling it down. It's easier for a few weeks after I've polished the mass every year. LOL

By Ilovetom on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 07:19 am:

Flip-flops.

By Eve on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 07:27 am:

OMG! I forgot about flip flops. I'm a little obsessesd in that area! LOL! My favorite are from Old Navy! You can afford to buy them in every single color!:)

By Imdamama6 on Sunday, May 2, 2004 - 10:15 pm:

Shoes and fabric are my DOWNFALL. I have over 150 pairs of shoes, and have just recently brought 7 more pairs. You can never have too many shoes or fabric.

DH says he doesn't know when I will ever wear all of my shoes. LOL

By Dananivyboo1 on Sunday, May 2, 2004 - 10:21 pm:

Vases. Dh buys me flowers all the time and sometimes include the vases but I just love having all sorts of sizes/colors/shapes to show off the flowers. And of course shoes, cant get enough of them!!!
