I hate it! I am bloated, irritable, weepy, exhausted, starving, craving salt, if I unsuck my stomach I look 6 months pregnant...blah, blah, blah.....Why?????
I used to be able to depend on my period coming exactly 28 days, almost to the minute, always in the wee hours so I never worried about being out in public, etc. it lasted five days, normal to light flow.
Forget that now. It is late, early, extremely heavy then GONE. Or it is late, early, extremely light with cramps and lingers for a while.
Arghh.

By Ilovetom on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 - 09:18 pm:

Oh Lord me too! Cept I get a warning spot or two - four days before and then I wait and wonder when it will start.

UGH.

I know what you mean ! I hate it too !I wish that there was a magic pill to take to make it all go away.I am experiencing all the symptoms that you mentioned right now..
It must be our age.
I rarely had any of those symptoms when I was younger. *sigh*.
Hope you get relief soon.
I have about 5 more days of this.
Where are the chips and dip and the chocolate!
I feel like driving to the gas station right now and getting that....................
I hope I don`t.
I have to keep telling my self I have to go to bed , I have to go to bed..... AHHHH !

It really must be the age! (37 here.) My pms is worse than it ever was, and SO unpredictable. My periods are also getting more and more unpredictable. This month, I just feel very weepy. Tonight I was trying to drive as I was sobbing over the song "Butterfly Kisses" on the radio!! I think I'm officially a crazy woman!!!

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 - 11:17 pm:

I'm 44. My periods still come every month right about where I expect them, but they are different now. I have worse cramps that last longer now, but then it's done sooner. I used to only need some Advil on the first day. Now, I need it on and off for about 3 days.

I've always been emotional, though.

I think I went through menopause without realizing it. I haven't had a period since something like last Sept. I've had a tiny bit of spotting now and then, but nothing to speak of. I can live with this!!!

By Renee on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 07:38 am:

I with you. I'm only 36. I never know when to expect my period and never know how long it will last. Its been lasting as long as 12 days!! And I've been crying over the littlest things too. Plus the mood swings. This really does suck and I wish I'd be done and over it.

By Rayanne on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 07:55 am:

I'm right there with you. I feel like $#!* today. This is my first period since I've had my DD. I hate these things!!!!!!!!!!

BTDT.......even with a hysterectomy at age 39. It's miserable. I had other problems which necessitated a hysterectomy, which has been nearly 10 years ago, and I certainly HAVEN'T missed the cramping and bleeding, but I have experienced the other stuff, especially the hot flashes and mood swings. I always tell myself *this too shall pass................*

By Texannie on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 08:31 am:

BTDTT, before my hysterectomy I was miserable. Now, I am on hormones (bio identical) and life is great again.
There is something you can take that will help your symptoms...natural Progesterone. Read up on Estrogen Dominence or John Lee on Perimenopause.

Oh my gosh Renee!!! 12 DAYS?? I would have to be in therapy! LOL

By Babysitbarb on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 10:00 am:

mine is so unpredictable also. I went off the pill like feb. 2003 and Iv had nothing but abnormal periods. I went 6 months without one at first, then two months, then i had one in december and January and not one since. Actually I spotted like one day in march.I guess I should be glad but, it just makes me always wondering if if Im having PMS or just being grumpy. I use to have it HORRIBLY and even I hated myself during that time. I was on sarafem for over two years for it and then when I went off the b-control and started having irregular periods I took myself off the medicine. I think Im going through pre menapause also but, doctor says Im to young(39).

You all made me feel much better. :)
Michele, your post cracked me up! I can certainly relate. I even have to change channels to skip over commercials that make me weep!

I have no warning when it's time to start my monthly. It's just WHAM...there it is. No spotting or anything.
Since my 3rd baby, mine has been unpredictable. I don't know how many pregnancy tests I've taken because my period is days or weeks late.
DH always knows when I'm about to start....he says I'm onery. When he says "it must be almost that time of the month" it makes me *SOOOO* mad. I just go off on him! I hate it when he says that, because at the time, the way I'm acting seems legitimate to me LOL. But, then I realize that I was just over emotional. Anyway....I'll stop rambling now.
((((hugs)))) to all the PMS women out there :)

I gave in I went to the gas station and bought salted cashews , jelly bellies , and dots candy.
I have to go for my walk for sure tonight.
