How long did it take...

to get rid of your belly after having a baby? It's only been 5 months, but I haven't noticed much of a change. I'm eating right as much as I can and trying to exercise. I walk sometimes and I just started step arobics. I'm one who needs results fast or else I give up. I'm depressed a lot over it. I don't know what to do!!!

You've got to do some kind of cardio exercise with your heart rate up for at least 30minutes, 4 days a week to see any kind of result.

Well Kaitlyn will be 11 months old soon and i'm just now comfortably fitting in my size 5 jeans that now have permanent creases from hanging in the closet for so long!!!

I didnt notice a difference until I started doing Winsor Pilates, and I dont even do it on a regular basis.

Just give yourself time. I definitely wasnt pre-preggo since when DD was 5 months old.

Well it's taken my 9 years and then some lmao = ) ..Actually it's still hanging out there and i mean hanging = ) but i'm seriously actually trying to get rid of it now the past 8 years i wasn't it has went down a little though..

My MIL always jokes that she still has fat from being prego with her youngest. (He's 19!!) LOL

I have actually been very lucky in this area. Within a couple of weeks after delivery I can wear my regular jeans again, and within about 6 weeks my skin is back to being smooth and tight.

I had all of my kids before I was 25, and some say that my age played a factor. With my next baby, I'll be almost 30 so we'll see how that goes :)

My son is 2 & I didn't have my belly back when we got pregnant with our daughter. 2 C-sections within 22 months of each other has played havic with my tummy, that wasn't that flat to begin with. Good luck

My kids are 10 and 8 (and 1/2!) and I still have baby fat! rofl I'll be thin again, someday... :)

I was fitting back into my jeans within a few weeks, but I'll need a tummy tuck if I ever want to get rid of the flab. It's ironic, I weigh just over 100 lbs yet I can grab 2 rolls of skin off my belly. :(

By Kellyj on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 01:44 pm:

I lost most of my weight pretty quickly and could wear all of my clothes by 6 months. But I have to agree with Palmbcprincess that some flabby skin is still there. :( Let me know if you figure out how to get rid of that extra flab. :)

It took me about 6 mos after each of my 3 boys. I wasn't trying very hard though. I think if you did cardio-aerobics at least 3 or 4 times a week, you could get back to pre-pregnancy weight within 2 months or so. Good luck!!!

By Carolk on Friday, April 16, 2004 - 03:03 pm:

I'm with Amy; it took me 6 months to lose the weight from my son. I'm just now starting to lose the weight from my daughter; she'll be one next month. I ride a stationary bike and use the total gym. It seems to do the trick. Sometimes I use Denise Austin's get fit fast tapes and sometimes tape her morning aerobics on Lifetime. It gives me some variety so I don't get trapped in a boring routine. HTH and Good luck!! :)

After 3 c-sections, I could only wish to have my old belly back, don't think it will ever happen. I have tried everything!! My first c-section 18 years ago was an emergency and I was cut from the belly button down, my OBGYN said with a cut that way its hard to regain muscle tone back into the stomach. And I have had 2 cuts after that the same way....so I guess I will always have the flabby tummy:(

It took me about a year to get my abs back in shape. A lot has to do with how tight they were before you got pregnant. You need to do a mix of cardio and some serious ab training to get them back into shape. There is no quick fix:(.
Good luck.

I have also had 3 C'sections. My ds is almost 5 months old. I can fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans too, but my tummy area is still pretty "out there" I wear anything that will hide that area. I read it takes about 1 year for alot of women to lose and get back into shape after giving birth. You are still so young, I was just 25 when I had my first baby. Within 1 year I looked better than ever. I'm patient, Summer's not here yet so I can still hide that area and my legs are fairly slim so....Takes time. I still have about 12 lbs to lose....and trying to work it off, mostly doing cardio. Can't do sit-ups.

By the way step aerobics should give you awesome results. I would love to do step aerobics!
