I have...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2004: I have...
By Cat on Monday, April 5, 2004 - 12:54 pm:

...a sleeping 5 week old on my breakfast bar (in his car seat)! Parents of a 4yo that's I've cared for two days a week since Oct. of 2002 just adopted him last month. They've tried for the past 3 years to have another child and after many failed attempts, including a failed invetro, they adopted (whole process took about 1 1/2 years) and couldn't be happier! He's so tiny! He was only 5lbs 5oz when he was born and is now a little over 8lbs. The birth mom didn't have prenatel care so they don't know how premature he was, but they guestimate around 34 weeks. I'm so happy for this family. He couldn't have found a better family and home. :) :) :)

Im so happy for them also. My DB and DSIl adopted after 17 years of marriage and she was 12 months when they got her back in November and now surprisingly they are 31/2 months pregnant, so my niece won't be an only child. I couldn't love my niece any more then if she was bilogical. My other DB and DSIL have been trying forever also. They have had two misscarriages. First one was twins and my brother was a twin. They have tried infertility, invetro and now just letting nature hopefully take it's course. Good luck to them with they precious cargo!!!!

Oh, he was SOOOO sweet! He slept most of the time, but I really enjoyed him for the 15 minutes he was awake. I only get these kids twice a week, so I'll enjoy him that much more! I have 3yo and 3mo brothers starting tomorrow (only one day a week) so then I'll get another little one to spoil! lol All together I have five different little ones under two that I watch (no more than two at a time, though). They're 5 weeks, 3 months, 8 months (he's every day), 22 months and one that will be two this month (the only girl of the bunch!). This is why I do what I do. :)

Barb, I hope your DB and DSIL have good luck getting pregnant. I have one daycare parent that's pregnant, but it's a secret for now. (SHhhh. Don't tell! :) ) So there'll be one more little one in December or January! :)
