I'm on a roll here....EASTER
How do you decorate your dinner table for Easter! I love fresh flowers, or Easter Lilies. Maybe a purple table cloth and something cute for the kids.
We never have any Easter meals at our house. We eat breakfast at church and if we meet up with family, it's at a restaurant or someone else's house! Your ideas sound very pretty, though.
I love decorating for each holiday! This year, I've kept the white lace tablecloth and silk floral arrangement and added painted ceramic eggs of my mother's, a few of the pearlized plastic eggs, and one of those 'open-up' ceramic eggs that has a little Easter scene inside. On a shelving unit near the table I have an antique crystal basket that was a wedding present of my parents (over 50 years ago) filled with eggs. I have some little ceramic 'dressed' bunnies on the fireplace hearth, and an Easter hanging on my front door.
Several years ago I learned how to dye the Ukrainian style eggs. I've made several over the years, and I put them in a crystal bowl, with Easter grass and silk dogwood blossoms. When Nichole is here for Easter, I decorate to the hilt. I hang lights and German hand-painted wooden eggs and figures on the ficus trees in the living room, and set out the sugar panorama eggs I've made. I have lots of ceramic bunnies that I put on tables around the house, and decorate two smaller Easter trees. Out front I place a silk topiary hydrangea bush in a pot with a big bow.
I found some really fun bunny plates/napkins in bright colors not the usual pastels. I am getting smallpots of zinnia and tying raffia around them and running them down the table with some Easter grass as my centerpiece.
Wow, all sounds wonderful and beautiful!
...and Bea, Nichole is adorable!
