Does anyone have an X-Box
Ok, I'm getting old and not up on this stuff, used to love the arcade as a kid though... Someone wants to get our children one (our children are ages 11, 8 and 3)...oh, I guess I should include dh in the category (lol)! Just wondering if you or your children use it often, good quality picture/games on tv,games expensive, what type of games etc. They asked me first before purchasing, which was really nice. I don't want them spending that kind of money on something the girls aren't going to like or use. Just looking for opinions...
My DH has one, kids aren't to touch. My DS has a playstation in his room,he doesn't play it too often...it's just not his thing he has to stay moving. My DH really likes his, he likes that it can connect to other x-box's online and he can play "Halo". It can be used as a DVD if you purchase this special remote. Picture quatlity is great. We go to Electronic's Botique to get games and we always buy used anywhere from $9-$30 used, new around $40-$60 depending on the game.
You can also buy the games on ebay. I bet your girls would really like one!
My aunt bought my boys an x box, and they already have a play station 2, to me they are basically the same, the games that are made are usually made in both x box and ps2, the only difference really is that the ps2 can play DVDs, and with the x box, you have to buy a separate thing to use to play DVDs on it.
I just asked DH, he said the main difference between x-box and playstation 2 is that the X-box has a hard drive and you don't have the need to purchase external memory cards like you do for the Playstation 2.
Thank you everyone, and I guess I'll accept the gift. BTW, I do get the extra remote to play dvds. Chrissy, thank you so much, besides the games being expensive, I don't want to have to purchase anything extra, didn't know that about the memory cards, thank your dh for me!
