Any Fly Ladies/Babies
Do any of you have a control journal or office in a bag? If so what's in them and are they worth their money? Do you use it often/daily?
Marg, You can make your own control journal initially I did have one but.....it got lost in my clutter..LOL As for the office in a bag, it is just a purple zippered case, it doesn't contain any of the supplies. I was alittle disappointed when I found that out so I figured I could get something similar at Walmart. HTH's
I go to local Flybaby meetings and have seen the control journal and office in a bag. The office in a bag is waaayy overpriced, IMHO. I took that idea and made my own. I bought a canvas expandable pocket folder with some zippered compartments at Office Depot on sale for $2.99. I put stamps, address labels, pens, paper clips in the front zippered compartment. These are what I used the expandable pockets for: Bills due 1-15, bills due 16-31; business envelopes, stationary/envelopes, coupons/gift certificates. It is very handy because I was always losing stamps before and now I can just take the whole thing with me and pay bills or write thank you notes when waiting in line or something. I also keep my extra checks and check registers in there. The control journal is a better deal, but I found it easier to make my own. I also wanted it typed up and not handwritten in blanks (yep...my perfectionism ), but I really customized it for me. My routine is quite a bit different from Flylady's so it just made sense to do my own. A local fly group is a great way to meet other flybabies face to face and get hands-on ideas from them. I love my group! We usually meet once or twice a month and frequently plan to meet at kid-friendly places for those moms with younger children or who homeschool. HTH.
What is a Fly Lady/Fly Baby? I have never heard of it, and it sounds cute. Ame
I'm a FlyBaby! You can go to www.flylady.net to find out some great ideas in organizing your home and life. I don't have the control journal, because being a 'payroll SHE' (that's a 'Side-tracked Home Executive' who also collects a paycheck elsewhere), I have a system that works for me. The FlyLady system helps keep me on track - the secret is to use what works for you...you don't have to use it all, but read it all, and pick and choose. I have the FlyLady Dusters, and absolutely LOVE them! Yes, they're pricier than ones I've found in stores, but these work so much better than anything I've found so far. My 77 yr old mom uses them, and swears by them, and she's been a homemaker all her life. That's a pretty big endorsement!
