Problem with DH - silly, I know ...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2004: Problem with DH - silly, I know ...

It may seem silly, but I just can't bring myself to use the DH abbreviation for dear husband - I keep thinking baseball! Can we come up with something else:)? Maybe SH for sweet husband or just HB?
I know, it's dumb - but I had to throw it out there, especially since it's baseball season.

It's a universal Internet thing. You can go to almost any message board and "DH" always means the same thing. Either "darling hubby" or "darn hubby". I don't think you can change it that easily! LOL!

Nope, don't really think we have much say in changing DH because it is a universal abbreviation.. And we have to go with the flow in this case.

It IS a universal abbreviation, but that doesn't mean you have to use it.....you can spell out husband if you prefer, or call him *hubby*, or whatever you are comfortable with.

Ditto everyone else :) It's not just a momsview thing.

I often just spell out hubby! LOL!

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be happy with my "designated hitter" - I mean - dear husband. Just wanted to see if anyone else found the abbreviation to be annoying.

I had trouble getting used to it and now I find when I think of him in my head I sometimes refer to im as DH.......I usually don't mean darling though. It kind of grows on you.
