Niagra Falls
We are thinking of taking the family vacation there this year. Has anyone gone? Any must sees (aside from Niagra Falls itself)?
We went to Niagara falls about 1 1/2 yrs ago in September, we went on the Canada side. I loved it, it was so beautiful. I would highly suggest the "Maid of the Mist" boatride. It is so cool, and not to be missed ride. Its very commercialized, lots of hotels, game room type things, up and down the main street. They also have a wonderful Butterfly Conservatory there too. There are thousands of them flying around and they will come and land right on you. There is a great website for Niagara falls, but dont know what it is. I know ifyou do a search you will find it.
I would love to go, Colette! Have fun planning!
Niagra Falls My Aunt and Uncle went for their anniversary. Said it was a great time. I would love to go to...
We live an hour and a half from the falls. Marineland is there, and it's lots of fun. The butterfly place is nice. You can walk around and check out so many little places. We've only taken the kids to see the Falls once, and just spent the day. We went to Marineland on a different occasion. Oh, there's lots of great shopping on both sides of the border.
thanks, I am still not sure we are going there. Dh wants to go to a national park...so we still have to do some discussing.
We went last October. It was great! Maiden of the Mist is a must! You can really feel the power of the falls on that. Lots of info on the net with package pricing. Also, if you are US, and plan to do Canada side, pay with your credit card on everything. You pay American dollars thus saving yourself money.
These are the things I'd recommend. We went a few years ago and loved it. Maid Of The Mist Niagara Falls Aviary IMAX Theatre Niagara Falls Skylon Tower The Casino The Butterfly Conservatory Niagara Spanish Aero Car The Illumination of the Falls At Clifton Hill .... The Adventure Dome etc.
DH, DS and I usually end up going 1-4 times in a summer if we have the time -- it's only maybe an hour and half to two hours from where we live. It's fun. We have pretty much done as much as we can do there; although, we haven't done the butterfly conservatory -- I don't like most flying things (too many bad experiences) -- I might be ok with butterflies, they're harmless. A good place to have a picnic is Queenston Heights -- it's between Niagara and Niagara on the Lake. Niagara on the Lake is a must see. We've not been on the American side of the falls.
