Quickie got fixed... (My good vet story)
Quickie is now about 7 months old. I'm usually great about fixing pets around 4 months old before they get "the urge" if you KWIM!! Well i've been lazy w/ Quickie because I wasnt ready to fork out $$ for a surgery and didnt want to go the cheapo humane society surgery (those are scary to me, I believe you get what you pay for). Anyways she went into heat and I couldnt stand the crying so I made an appt. for the next day. When I went in I was greeted so nicely and the staff was very pleasant. It was very, very nicely decorated, extremely clean and sanitary and even had a play area for Kaitlyn. I was able to meet the vet performing the surgery, the tech assisting, another tech along with the great reception staff. Quickie had her surgery and they called afterward to let me know everything went well. I picked her up and she even had a cute little bandana around her neck (along with the horrible elizabethian collar) . Her surgery site looked great, clean, not red or puffy. She had 2 pain shots and meds for me to take home. I was just overall very impressed because you dont usually find such a great staff with such a devotion for animals these days! And the best, It cost me only $50.00. And seeing as I worked in a vet clinic before I knew everything they used down to the anesthesia and that was a great price.
Awww... I love your vet! So glad everything went fine, and now she can settle down and forget about being a "bad girl." (Good for you, getting her spayed, too)
Sounds like a great experience. I love vets that are very sweet. After all, it's almost like picking a doctor for your child.....you want the very best! We have a wonderful vet that we've taken all of our animals to since I was 10 years old. He is just great. (((((Quickie)))) Hope you are up and around soon!
Very good. It always makes you feel better when you know that your pets are being taken care of, i have seen some bad vets!!
I'm glad you found a good vet! Most of Honey's time with us, we had used the vet that is in walking distance of our house, until the time that she didn't eat for three days and they told me that dogs could go a week without eating, so, obviously, they didn't want to do anything about it, so we tired another vet, who got her in that day. While, Honey sometimes growled and snapped at the first vet, she didn't do anything of the sort to the second vet. So, since our yearly visit was already scheduled at the first vet, we went there and had it done. When Honey got sick again this year, we went to the second vet. I think Honey just felt more comfortable with the second vet. They also sent a sympathy card after we put Honey down. So, when we get a new dog eventually, I think we will go to the second vet again. Not that they weren't nice at the first vet, but why did Honey not like that vet?
I got my first kiss today from her so I think she forgives me! I'm not so sure the male cat that has been visiting ever will though....
That was a good experience, and definitely a good price.
