We decided last night that we are going to go to Boston for our family vacation. Does anyone have recommendations as far as where to stay and things to do? There will be 2 adults and a 3 yr old. We have never been there, but it's always been on our list of vacation destinations. TIA!

I forgot, we will be there near the end of July.

I am about 1/2 hour north of Boston. Things to do, Public gardens - Swan boat ride, Fanneuil Hall, the science museum, the aquarium, the children's museum. There are tons of things to do in Boston. Definately do Fanneuil Hall, it's an open air street market with various street entertainers. I am running out for errands right now but I'll post more a bit later.

Same here... I'm five minutes away from the airport. I'll do a littel research and get back to you!!! :)

Just thought of something... the Democratic National Convention is in Boston July 25-29th! I would plan around that! Hotel rooms will not be easy to get and the city is expected to be "very crowded"... not to mention the protesting that inevitably goes along with it! Something to think about when planning!

The Duckboat tour is fun, definitely the aquarium, swan boats, Imax theater, art museum, go to Camrbidge to see Harvard and they have a wonderful natural history museum, shopping on Newbury Street. The last time I went to the Children's museum whichn was a few years ago, I thought it was run down. I'm sure the moms who still live there would know if it has been redone or at least revitalized some.
You would enjoy walking the Freedom Trail if your little one will sit in a stroller.
That's all I can think about right now. There are some fabulous restaurants, too. Bring your appetites!

Oh Angela is right, it's going to be nuts. Might want to book hotels right now if any are left or even consider staying outside of the city and taking the "T" to wherever you want to go.

Thanks guys! That explains where there isn't any rooms left! Maybe we'll go the week before. I've already been looking at restaurants online. I can't wait!
