Vacation time in California......any ideas?
DH has 2 weeks vacation at the end of May. We are going to go to California. We just don't know what we are going to do there. We are debating on Disneyland. It will probably be really crowded in May. What do you think? I really want to take the kids to Sea World. It's been several years since they've been there and my DS has never been there. I know they will all love it. Of course there is the beach. The water will probably still be a bit cold but we can play in the sand and wade in the water. We'd only like to be gone for a week, but could stay longer. We've never been to California Adventure, but I told DH I think that is for older kids more so than our kids. (5,4 and 2) We will mostly be in the San Diego area. If you know of anything in the area we might enjoy please post! I'm wanting to find a boat ride/ferry or something similar for us all to go out on. Is there anything like that? Any ideas? Is there some place that you have gotten tickets to Sea World/Disney at a discount?
I did a google search for San Diego whale watching and came up with a mess load of hits. I have always wanted to take one of those trips. Go out and see the whales and dolphins and such...
I used to live in San Diego. Sea World is nice. Disney is about a 3+ hour drive. There's also Legoland which is north of San Diego. The water is cold year round so I wouldn't worry about timing in that respect. There's a lot of great scenary, but it might be lost on kids so young.
Andi just got back from Disneyland, you should ask her!!
How about the San Diego Zoo! Thats an awsome zoo.
We went to Disney World in May a few years ago and it wasn't crowded at all, especially if you go in the middle of the week. A lot of kids are still in school then. San Diego has so may fun things to do. The Zoo is wonderful. I could spend a whole day there. I have heard lots of great things about Legoland also, but I have never been.
Jackie, we were posting at the same time. Two thumbs up for the zoo.
Well I have lived in San Diego my whole life so e-mail me off line and I will get you all set for your vacation. wahooper5@cox.net
