All the recipes I have call for cooking in water. I could have sworn the very first time I made this, I cooked it in the oven.

Does anyone know if you can do that?

I just made corned beef for the first time yesterday. I made it in water, but in researching recipes, I did come across some that had it in the oven. Go to allrecipes.com (my favorite recipe site!) and click on "corned beef recipes." There are several listed that you make in the oven.

I put mine in the crock pot covered with water & seasoning pack all day. I'm sure it would be good in the oven too though.

Speaking of which, I never defrosted my corned beef! Ooops! Thanks for the reminder!

I wish I could find my orginial recipe I used. However it came on the package, and every brisket since that time had water instructions on them. Odd, huh?

I made two. One on the stove, the other in the oven (I had several guests). Everyone chose to eat the oven cooked brisket. It turned out wonderfully, both of them.
