Need ideas
Tomorrow, I become the mother of a teen daughter. My first! AHHHHH! Feeling a little old. Anyways, dh took her away for the next two nights snowboarding. They are coming home Saturday and she is having a friend sleepover. I want to do something special to celebrate this w/her. Any ideas? She is VERY into LOTR, art - esp. painting (all mediums). TIA
Do you have a pottery/ceramics painting place near you? I haven't done this, but I know many girls/college girls who love doing this. The fee is generally pretty reasonable and you pick a plate, bowl, etc. and paint it however you want. Ooooh snowboarding--I'm jealous--it's been a couple of years since I've been snowboarding. Our family tradition for the 13th b-day is mom helps daughter pick out a fancy dress (within limits, of course) and they have dinner together at a fancy restaurant, just the two of them. Both my sister and I loved this, though I was definitely more of a tomboy at that age.
How about a girly spa day? Manicure, pedicure, get hair done type of thing... Does she have her ears pierced? On my 13th b-day my mom and I went to the mall, had lunch, and I got my ears pierced.
Thanks for the ideas. I am going to look around today and see if I can find something really special. She doesnt want her ears pierced "why would I want to put holes in my body?" LOL...and she takes ceramics now. I think I may redecorate her room and surprise her for when she comes home tomorrow.
That sounds like a great idea colette,I am sure she would love her room redecorated I know my DD`s would.
