Anything for ratings
Geesh. I read this in the paper and couldn't believe it. Just another reason why I don't watch that news channel. Use of house in TV 'sting' probed
, way to sad. I think police and the school should take action against these men and the tv station.
There's a lot of flack about that, and I think it is appalling. I don't watch that station either, but, as you say, "anything for ratings".
I saw something about this last night on one of the National News station on the Evening News, except it was right outside of Kansas City, MO. I thought it was pretty interesting. The news crew was acting has teenagers or children and then these pedofiles were coming to their house (there only men in the house, no teenagers or children). I agree that maybe the news crew should have had the authorities in on it, but I thought it was very interesting to see the type of men that actually try to get our children and teenagers on the net like that. I live in Arkansas and the North Little Rock police department did this a few months ago. But, there was a local girl who had been in a chat room and someone approached her in the chat room that they wanted to "meet" her and started saying some things to her. She got her mom and they played around with the guy while her mom called the police. The police came to the house and then started chatting with the guy and set up a time and place to meet him. The guy came from another state (several states away) to meet this girl, actually he ended up meeting the police. I believe the police still do this on occassion to try and catch these perverts.
There was a similar story on KIRO (Washington/Northwest) a week or two ago with some news reporters doing the exact same thing as WCAU-TV. Can't remember the details, but the reporters were interviewing the men who came to meet the young teens. I never even connected it with a ratings sweep.
