We are thinking of going to Ocean City for a short vacation in August. Has anyone been there? I've been trying to find a reasonably priced (no more than $200 a night) hotel that is clean , kid friendly, and possibly Ocean front. I've found a few on the internet, but wanted know if anyone here has been there and knows a good hotel to stay at. Also the place must have a pool.

It's really nice with an indoor pool, of course it's really cheap because it's in the winter time.

In the summer we like to go to Virginia Beach, dh was in the Navy and we just always go there. When we go to Virginia Beach, we don't stay at the beach because of the rates, we usually stay as far away as Williamsburg somtimes...

We usually go to Rehobeth or Bethany Beach in Delaware for our vacations but they are just a short drive from OC. August is high season there so it is a lot more expensive then. Also, if you have never gone to OC in the summer be prepared, it can be very crowded. Not trying to dissuade you just letting you know. We stay in Delaware because it is a bit quieter but that is just our families preference.

Thank you for the info. Kathy, thanks for the heads up we really wouldn't want to be anywhere where it is too crowded either.
Maybe we should think about an alternative vacation, or go there in the off season.

I live close to Ocean City Maryland and it is a great place to go. Since I am so close though I dont have to rent a hotel so I dont really know of any, but if you have never been there it is a nice get away spot. I enjoy going there alot.
