I did our taxes online and the refund was supposed to have been direct deposited on the 20th according to the IRS refund hotline. Well, this morning I decided to go online and make sure I gave them the right account and routing numbers. Sure enough, I had left out one number in the account number. DH called the bank this morning and said "Don't worry, the money won't be deposited into anyone's account because the names on the accounts won't match up". That made me feel better, but I'm wondering how long it will take to get the refund now? Does anyone have an educated guess as to how long it will take? I'm getting nervous because our car insurance is due on the 5th and we haven't saved any money for this because our refund would be here by then. Also, I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks and was planning on taking 100-150 of that money. Now I'm scared I'm going to have to cancel the trip. I guess this was more of a vent than a question, but I'd still like to know(if anyone knows) how long it will take! TIA

It might take 6-8 weeks by paper. Especially since it probably has been stopped electronically. CAll the IRS and ask them. We used to tell everyone 6-8 weeks, sometimes quicker sometimes longer. I'm sorry, I didn't want to depress you, the best bet is to call the IRS and see what they are going to do, they usually can tell you.
