Had the EMG today and OUCH!!
I had one jolt that almost made me jump off
the table. The needle part was the worst!
PLus when he stuck the needle in I would have to move my leg up. OUCH OUCH OUCH!! Glad its over!!
Well the findings today were that it does not appear to be nerve damnage but I do have imflammation. When he did my right leg the machine was not making much noise. But when he did my right leg it was VERY noisy.
He is putting me on a pain med. I do not remember the name of it and I have not got to go pick it up at the drugstore yet. I had to go get some blood work taken and did not have time. I get really BAD leg cramps and he said that it shouls not be from the sciatica. In fact the leg cramps keep me up at night. I have tried more potassium ( sp?) and vitamin e and its not helping one bit!
The foot numbing and pain is from the sciatic and it drives me insane with pain!! Thanks for all your help and advice. And No I am not over weight I am VERY tiny. I have to go back in 3 weeks after I have been on the med for a while to see if it helps. He is starting me off at a very low dose since I am so tiny. He said is you build it up little at a time It should not make me as sleepy. He wants me to start a weight lifting program. Nothing to heavy. I will talk to him more about it when I go back. Last night was a bad night with pain. Its hard to live with this.
I just kep telling my self it could be worse.

Glad it's over, Trisa. Last EMG I had, I was in tears at the end of it from the pain, so I know what you mean. Sounds like good news so far.
I had tears also and had to ask for a kleenex!
Ouch! I'm glad that is over for you. It doesn't sound like too much fun.
Trisa, I KNOW how painful the EMG is.....BTDT........at least you know you don't have nerve damage. I'd like to know what meds he put you on, when you get them filled.
