Winter Blues
Does anyone else get them?? Cabin Fever, SAD, whatever you call it. I'm VERY ready for SPRING!! Let's post pics to help snap out of it this winter funk.
Trina, We have had wonderful weather for the last week and a half. 25 and above. This week it has been in the 40s and today it hit 50. We still have so much snow on the ground. But it has also given me Spring Fever;)
/image{red and yellow tulips} These are tulips by my house a few springs ago! Can see more spring flowers at: Dawn's Flowers I'm so ready for tulips! I wish more of the snow wold melt so I could see if anything is brave enough to poke out of the ground yet.
OOps, wrong slash, darn it!
I have tons of these and they are among the first flowers to bloom in my yard.
No pics to post, but the sun was out and we got into the low 70s today. It "felt" like a lovely spring day
Those are so pretty!! Sorry I still have no clue how to post a pic.
I don't know how to post a pic either, not in a posting anyway. I did it on the profile. Anyway, 65 today here in B'ham, Alabama. Really gave me spring fever!
Hang in there...summer will be here before you know it!
Thanks girls! Keep them coming! Mel, adorable pic of your boys. How I miss being close to the beach!
3 more months til the lilacs bloom. I hate winter. At least we've gotten rid of that nasty bout of frigid temps we had a few weeks ago. hang in there trina, warmer weather is coming...i hope!
Cute pics of the boys! What are those boards called? I know it starts with a "b", but can't get the word in my head. Love the pic of the butterfly on the coneflower. I have coneflowers that come back every year in my flower garden! I love them! They last forever and don't need much water. They are a naturally-occurring WI flower, although, I MADE them show up in my flower garden. Now, nature just brings them back every year!
LOL! This coneflower-to-be is all I have of mine! Mental note to self! Take pictures at the end of August! I don't have any coneflower blossoms! I looked at the picture again and there IS a coneflower blooming. It's hard to see! I want to plant poppies again, too, since once they start blooming, they just don't stop until we get frost. Especially, if you keep on top of picking off the seed capsule when the flowers drop off. If I deadhead the bachelor buttons, they keep on giving, too, but there are sometimes SO many bachelor buttons that it's hard to keep up! Oh, yeah, my SIL and I are like this every spring, dreaming about summer flowers! LOL!
Beautiful Pics, However, Melanie's my favorite (love water) Sunny where are those pics from, and Trina I wish I was in that pic!
Beautiful pics! Hey Melanie, I'm envious, can I come play with your boys?!?
Those are great pictures! We are still in the 20's right now, we are supposed to hit 40 today! Whoo hoo! That still isn't quite warm enough for me though. Sunny, your pics are beautiful!
I usually get SAD - for me it has to do with getting up in the dark and coming home in the dark, and runs from mid-November through mid-March. This year I didn't get SAD, which I attribute partly to having my son for company since he is living with me, and partly because I didn't have time to think about it, being caught up in my son's various medical and psychological emergencies. But I do hate the darkness of winter.
Thanks! Marg, the butterfly and coneflower are from my backyard, while the other two were taken at Longwood Gardens.
Great pics, while our temps are headed to 40 this weekend these pics make me think of spring. Thanks
Sunny I thought that was Longwood. I LOVE that place. Have you even gone at Christmas time? It is soooooo pretty!!
I love Longwood too. I'm planning to go up in late April again.
Most these are from my yard last spring. Some were taken in early March. Spring is almost here.

OK Bea, where is spring and where are your pics...LOL
Spring is not here in WI tonight. We have at least an inch of new snow on the driveway.
Trying again. My server is so slow tonight. I'll do it in two parts. Most these are from my yard last spring. Some were taken in early March. Spring is almost here.

What beautiful pictures, everyone! Too many to tell a favorite, but the little guys are standing out in my mind right now! What cuties. Can someone tell me how to post a picture? I read the explanation, but I still didn't get it! Duh. Thanks!
*Sigh* I can`t wait till spring either. I have enjoyed looking at the beautiful pictures. The weather today is just pure yuk. 35 degrees , rain mixed with snow.I can`t remember the last tme the sun was out.
sleet and freezing rain here. :0(
Light pink hyacinths that used to grow by my back door, until a warm February coaxed them out of the ground too early and then they froze.
Beautiful day here. It's about 65 F, and the sun is shining. It's windy though, and my big windchime is gonging merrily. I planted about 40 iris yesterday, after a gardening program I listen to on the radio, told me that they would still grow if I planted them this late. I hope so. I stored them in my refrigerator all winter to give them a long chill.
I just took these today. What a nice surprise to see when I stepped outside!
Okay, okay, I'm practicing with the picture posting. Here's a cute face.
It is kind of "springy" though. It cheers me up! Can you guys tell I'm bored? I think I have posted on every topic with something very silly.
Sunny, I love your crocuses! It makes me tempted to get a snow shovel and clear some of the snow away from my crocuses! LOL! Juliem, your picture is cute, too.
