Need a new camera battery?

Need a new camera battery?
We bought a Sony digital in July or August. My previous digital camera just used lithium batteries that you replaced when needed. This one has a rechargable battery. For about a month I've been getting a lot of inconsistency with photos and videos - blurring that goes in and out, inconsistency with photos (some are blurry that shouldn't be for example), and slower shots. It also seems like the battery is running down more quickly than before, but I can't be sure. I'm wondering if this camera is on the blink but DH mentioned that it might be a battery issue. Do you have experience with the rechargable batteries needing to be replaced so quickly? (It seems to me to be quick, but maybe I'm clueless on this.) It has been 6months or a little less. I probably charge it on average of 2x/week. TIA
Could also be your memory card. Have you formatted the card? You should really reformat it every time you clear pics off of it. There are also different *speed* cards. Not saying it's not the battery, but just another thought.
Thanks Karen - I just reformatted it a few weeks ago. I'll do it again as soon as I can though. I took some fantastic video of Natalie sitting on Santa's lap a few weeks ago - her telling him what she wanted, etc. It was so cute and turned out crappy. Focused for the first few seconds or so, then blurred the rest of the time so you lose all the cuteness of it. I was so ticked! It's getting more frequent.
If I were you, I'd get a new battery and see if that solves the problem, then. Also, maybe call your camera manufacturer, or try to troubleshoot on their website. Is it possible you have inadvertently changed any of the camera settings? I've done that before without realizing it and my pictures suffered because of it. Good luck, I know how frustrating this is!
We've looked through the settings thinking something might have gotten changed by accident, but have found nothing. I'm going to troubleshoot on their site and go from there. Thanks!
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Try those things, and if it doesn't solve your problem - the camera is still under warranty, right? Take it back, insist that you get satisfaction, go up the chain all the way to the top. Good luck.
I would look into a new battery. Might contact the company and see if they might make it right first, as in sending you a new set of batteries. I don't think six months is very long for rechargeable batteries. If they don't make it right, spending the money on a new set of batteries is likely cheaper than a new camera.
