Does anyone have a Dell? I've been looking at the for a long time and we are going to buy when we get our tax refund. I was just wanting some input. I have all the upgrades figured out and it is saved on their website just waiting for the money to ship.

I just got a Dell, and I love it. I got it with WindowsXP, and opted for the MicrosoftWord package to install (it is not pre-installed), because I already have my own WordPerfect (which I have now installed) and wanted to have access to some of the stuff in Word that WordPerfect does not have.

It arrived very promptly, set up was a snap. I love it. Dell has a great record for customer service, and mine came with a year warranty and a year in-home service at no extra cost. I would not buy any extended warranty or service package because, basically, anything that is going to go wrong will probably go wrong in the first 3-6 months, and then it will run fine until it just wears out.

Other people on the board have also sung Dell's praises, which I factored in when making my choice.

My dh uses a Dell laptop for work. He is fixing to get a new Dell desktop for his home office. I got him the Dell Axim (sp?) handheld deal last yr for Christmas. He loves his work laptop and the Axim. He cant wait to order his new desktop. Dell was very easy to deal with. I would love to get rid of my Sony laptop and get a Dell, but that wont happen for awhile.

My dss got a new Dell desktop over a yr ago for Christmas and he has been pleased with it as well.

I got a Dell computer 2 years ago and it's still working fine. DH upgraded the RAM a little bit and I have gotten a different hard-drive about 6 months ago. It came in a week and worked fine out of the box. We did have the first hard-drive go ACK on us, but we had the 3 year/in-home warranty, so a guy brought us a new hard-drive and stayed while DH installed the operating system. It came with ME, but when XP was released, we could get that for $20, so we did.

We have a dell that we got in November and I love it. They only thing we have found we cannot do is play some higher speed games. Rich got a NASCAR game for Christmas and we don't have quite enough memory on the computer to install it otherwise it is great.

Tonya-my DH also has a NASCAR game. If freezes up on him when he plays it on this computer. Maybe when we get the new one I can take everything else off of this one and it will work better.

I have a Dell also and I love it. My DH is getting one this week.
