Birth Day Live!
Tomorrow, Feb 16, from 3 pm-1 am CST Birth Day Live will be airing on the Discovery Health channel. The really cool thing is that the hospital where I work, Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, is one of the 3 featured hospitals. The Discovery channel crew has been here since last Thursday setting up and getting ready for the live filming that starts tomorrow afternoon. I don't work tomorrow so I won't get to experience the hustle and bustle, plus I work off site anyway and not in labor and delivery anyway. Woman's Hospital delivers over 7000 babies a year and is 16th in the nation for number of babies delivered. Anyway, tune in if you can. It should be cool!
Anyway, how many times can I say "anyway" in one post anyway?
That is so cool
LOL Pam....I have a problem saying *anyway* too! I love "Birth Day". It always makes me want to have another baby But now days.....everything does!
I watched this and it was so cool. I cannot watch when they do the C-sections just a little too graphic for me it was really cool to see them live though.
I watched it and thought it was interesting for a little while but then it got boring. They always seemed to talk about the same thing at all the c-sections. It was cool to see them at Mary Burch Hospital in San Diego, that is where I had my son 3 years ago.
I flipped back and forth and I must agree with you Andi...it was boring!! LOL I thought Mary Alice Williams in Orlando was terrible at ad-libbing---she should have just kept her mouth shut. AND I was appalled at how many of the deliveries were inductions and/or C-sections. With the few births I saw I didn't see one woman in any city go into labor on her own. I do know all of the nurses got new scrubs (bought by the hospital) out of the deal and I heard that my hospital paid professionals to do hair and make-up for them too *rolls eyes*
I forgot it was on until late that night! I watched for a little bit, but there was too much talking IMO. I know it was live, and so they couldn't script everything out. I agree with Pam, that lady was not very good at ad-libbing. I like the regular "Birth Day" show. I like how it shows a little background of the couple and goes throughout the birth and then a little follow-up a few weeks later. All scrunched in to a 30 minute show That's how I like it LOL
I missed it, but just wanted to say there is NO way I would have allowed this when I was giving birth! LOL!
