Home from ski trip w/ sad news....
We left over a week ago to go snow skiing in Colorado. Arrived at our destination Saturday afternoon after driving all night and all day. Began skiing Sunday. Had a GREAT trip until Tuesday, I was skiing down a beautiful run at Keystone when my cell phone rang. It was my Mom on the other end calling to tell me my Grandmother had just passed away. We left Colorado Friday morning and drove down to west Texas for her funeral on Saturday morning. She was the first of my grandparents to go. So it is truly an unbelievable thing. One minute I feel like its real and I am crying, the next minute I feel like I am in a dream and it isnt really happening. I will miss her more than words can express. My Grandparents are such wonderful people. I have been so blessed by God for having them in my life for so long. She was 81 yrs old. She went quickly (collapsed in the kitchen with my grandad by her side, due to a massive heart attack). My Grandad is 85 and is soooo sad and scared. He was blaming himself that he couldnt revive her. He is talking of how lonely he will be now. They would have celebrated 64 yrs of marraige in June. My Grandma was so good to us and I can never thank her for all she did and all she taught me. If you have something to say to a loved one-- say it while you still can. I do believe my Grandma is in heaven now with all of her loved one's and I do believe I will see her again one day. But I am sure going to miss her until that day comes.
Conni, I am so sorry to hear about this. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!!!
