Spent 3 hours on the ER last night!
My 8 year old DD dropped her electric guitar on her foot yesterday afternoon and split her toe basically in half! Her middle toe required 6 stitches. That is alot of stitches for one little toe! It is the right tip of her toe, so one of the stitches is actually in her toe nail and it goes around the side and in between the toes! She is home from school today, but she can go back tomorrow, just without a shoe, she will wear a slipper in her classroom. Life is never dull!
((hugs)) to your dd. I hope it is not hurting her. And it must of been the night for trips to the ER. I spent 4 hrs there with my 5 yo. He flipped the wooden kitchen bench on his foot and smashed his big toe. They had to remove his nail and reapply it. He has a huge bandage on it and he is also off from school today.
Oh the ER - how I remember - and some of the memories are recent.
Hope both of the kids are doing much better today ouchie.
ouch ! Hope they are both doing well soon ! Sarah , was your dd watching Freaky Friday ? since we have watched the movie that is all my youngest dd wants to do (play the guitar). DH is in a band so she is always playing with his guitars.
Hope both kids are painless and healing well! Freaky Friday! We watched that movie twice while we had it rented. By the way it started, thought it was going to be slow, but we loved it!!! So sappy sweet at the end! hehe!
owww! I hope she's feeling better! Hey rock and roll stars have to go through a lot to get to the top!
Oh, that sounds so painful! I hope she is all better soon!
Poor thing! Hope it's not too painful. Give her hugs from all of us.
Ouch! Poor kids! Hope their toes are both feeling better soon!
Owie, I have chills just thinking about it. Poor kid. Hope she feels better soon!
Oh no! Hope recovery goes well and she's back to normal soon.
She LOVED Freaky Friday. She has wanted a guitar for a while now, she got it for Christmas. Apparently when she picked it up by the strap, it came unhooked and fell straight on her toe. We have already found something that will not allow the strap to come undone like that again. She only has 10 toes!!! She is feeling better today, she said that it is sore but in between her toes where they did the shots hurt too. FUN FUN!!
Poor Courtney. That's no way to treat a Future Rock Star. I hope everything heals fast.
Poor little girl! I hope that little toe heals quickly
I am sorry. I hope it heals quickly. Poor thing.
She went to school today. She couldn't possibly miss the Valentine exchange! She just wore a slipper on her foot. I'm surprised she has stayed all day, I gave her the option of coming home early. She must be getting tons of attention! I made the appt. for her to have her stitches removed next Thursday, she is a little nervous about that. I told her that it is easy, the hard part is already over! Thanks for all of your kind words!
Wow only 3 hours in the er. That must have been either really well run or just not a busy time to go. I have worked in ers and 3 hours is like nothing.
Ouch! Toe pains are awful! I hate to just stub my toe....not sure if I could handle actually having to get shots and stitches in it! Glad she is feeling better.
Yeah, I didn't think 3 hours was too bad. It wasn't that busy, it also helps that it is a Children's Hospital so things run pretty quickly. It just took a while in between Dr.s coming in and looking at it to the actual stitching it up. We had time to play UNO and Scrabble and watch a movie! I've heard of people being in there for 6-7 hours!!
