Amber alert. Toddler missing from my area.
New York State AMBER Alert Date: 02-11-04 Activation Areas: 10,11 & 12 Time: 12:30 pm The New York City Police Department (115 th precinct) is activating the New York State AMBER Alert System. The New York City Police Department is investigating a confirmed child abduction which occurred at 31-11 74 street, in the Elmhurst Queens, New York City area at approximately 7:30pm yesterdays date, February 10, 2004. The child, Carolina Vilela, is a 14 month old hispanic female, with brown hair, brown eyes, about 30 inches tall, and weighs about 23 pounds. She was wearing a blue one piece jump suit. Additionally, the mother of the child, Carla Vilela, is a hispanic female approximately 24 years of age and is also believed to be in company of the suspect against her will. The suspect, Jesus Maldonado, is a Hispanic male, approximately 33 years old, with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5'8 inches tall, and weighs about 180 pounds. The vehicle is a gray or beige Ford Windstar mini-van. No License plate number is available at this time. The suspect may be attempting to flee to the state of Florida with both victims. Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the New York City Police Department at 718-533-2039 , or dial 911 and report the information. Every time I hear of an Amber Alert, it makes me feel sick inside.............
They had the alert on the roads. It was on the electronic signs. I never saw that before.
They have those signs on our freeways here in California. They really do help. Any word on the toddler and her mom?
